Working within the landscape tradition, David Skinner's paintings are part of a long tradition of art work that celebrates the beautiful light and terrain of California.

Being a native of California, David has traveled up and down the coast and into the deserts of California to find inspirational compositions for his paintings. His paintings employ loose brushwork and an interpretive palette of colors and can be seen as a blend of traditional and contemporary styles.

He has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from U C Santa Barbara, and has received numbers awards for his work since graduating in 1986. He currently resides in Venice, California with his wife Anna, and dog Cole.
