Cary Nowell’s work reflects a European sensibility. She draws much inspiration from France, as seen in her recent collections of decorative graphic paintings and collages. These original antique French documents, were real estate deeds, marriage licenses, student’s notebooks, and musical pages. With layers of paint and gold leaf paper, Cary has put a contemporary spin on these old world masterpieces. A collection of her work was recently shown in Paris in November 2006.
